Chocolate Cake
Easy chocolate cake, shamelessly stolen from elsewhere

265 grams | all purpose flour |
55 grams | cocoa powder |
6 grams (1.5 tsp) | baking powder |
6 grams (1.5 tsp) | bi-carb soda |
440 grams | caster sugar |
4 grams (1 tsp) | salt |
2 | eggs |
250 ml | milk |
125 ml (108 grams) | vegetable oil |
2 tsp | vanilla extract |
250 ml | boiling water |
Method
- Heat oven to 180 degrees celsius / 160 degrees fan forced.
- Grease and line a 21cm cake tin
- note that the mixture is extremely runny, so if using a springform pan, fill gaps with butter and put a pan underneath to catch drips
- In a large bowl, sift and combine
- 265 grams flour
- 55 grams cocoa powder
- 6 grams baking powder
- 6 grams bi-carb soda
- 4 grams salt
- 440 grams sugar
- Whisk in the following until lump free
- 2 eggs
- 250 ml milk
- 125 ml (108 g) vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Whisk in 250 ml boiling water
- Pour into cake tin
- Cook for 40 minutes or until skewer comes out cleanly
