Easy one layer Orange and Poppy Seed Cake

210 grams | all purpose flour |
200 grams | caster sugar |
120 ml (~105 g) | vegetable oil |
2 | large eggs |
2 tablespoons | poppy seeds |
zest of one orange | |
3 tablespoons (45 g) | fresh orange juice (about one orange) |
1 tsp (4g) | vanilla extract |
120 g | greek yogurt |
60 ml | milk |
1/4 tsp | salt |
10 g | baking powder |
Method
- Heat oven to 180 degrees celsius/160 fan forced.
- Grease and line a 21cm cake tin
- In a mixing bowl, combine
- 210 grams flour
- 200 grams caster sugar
- 10 grams baking powder
- 1/4 tsp (1g) salt
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- zest of one orange
- In a seperate mixing bowl, whisk together
- 120 ml (105 grams) vegetable oil
- 1 tsp (4g) vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons (45 g) orange juice
- Combine wet ingedients into dry ingredients mixing bowl
- Add 120 grams (1/2 cup) greek yogurt, mix in
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until skewer comes out clean
- Cool for 10 minutes in pan before turning out on a rack to cool.
